Was surfing through the net today and I came across this ad from www.gofugyourself.com . It was a blog called whoisbenjaminstove.com. I clicked on it after seeing the picture of what looked like a voodoo doll. I thought it was the blog of some technologically aware serial killer but it wasn’t. I don’t know exactly how old this guy is but his writing reads like Spiderwick. I don’t know how real this site is but it did arouse my interest in finding out who exactly is Benjamin Stove. The writer talks about finding this painting, probably by Benjamin’s grandmother made back in 1913. Benjamin Stove was a farmer in Iowa who left his farm and never returned again. The writer is trying to look for him, even Googled him and everything but to no avail. His clues are two notes yellowed with age found at the back of the painting when airport security forced him to open it. One was a recipe (not much of a clue) and the other, a letter from a guy called Martinez thanking the Stoves and telling them that he would have wanted photos of the actual event, instead of a painting for his research. The painting was of crop circles.
The writer tells of his unrequited love for someone named Tina, his search for the family history of the Stoves (basically they’re a family of nutcases), and his obsession for the truth about what happened to Benjamin Stove. Very interesting. I hope he finds what he’s looking for, provided of course that Benjamin Stove has not become a mass murderer (killing off random people in an attempt to prepare only the chosen ones for a New World Order) and decides to convert the writer to his crazy side by teaching him the language of the alien race responsible for the crop circles in the painting.

Looks like a marketing gimmick/hoax to me.
