Just Work

Just finished a deadlined project at work (Is that grammatically correct?) and I feel quite accomplished. More reporting to do in class next week so I’ve decided to do that later when I get home. Kinda weird to head home straight on a Friday, but things need to be done.

The weather (which used to be a boring topic) has been very unstable lately. Climate change is here and with all the things that we are doing to the Earth, the Earth is beginning to get back at us. It was horribly hot this morning, like it was summer but now, during the past hour, the weather just changed and I can see rain pouring in with strong winds. Without an umbrella with me, I expect to go home looking I was in a wet T-shirt contest. It’s not gonna be nice. The bus stop is like a 3 minute walk from my main office and really in this weather, by the time I get there, even my underwear is gonna be wet. (That didn’t sound right, did it?)

Milling season is here. That translates into the obnoxious sound of the factory running everyday (it’s like a thousand bees, buzzing endlessly in your ear) and into work on Saturdays, which kinda sucks. But never mind, I love my job so I’m here. The sickly sweet smell of molasses doesn’t bother me anyway. And I really can’t hear the factory running when I’m inside the office. However, this crazy weather is gonna do a lot of damage to the sugar industry, my job included. I’m expecting low yields. :(

I Look At You

I look at you and I see
The promise of a great love
Flowing continuously
Changing our lives forever

I look at you and I see
A secret buried within
Words better left unspoken
A love that can never be

Summons

2 weeks into my MBA and I see this in the Graduate School office. Hehehe Delinquent for losing temporary id. Attached was all papers proving that I enrolled. Imagine that.

Firsts

I know that I haven’t posted a lot lately. The usual busy excuse comes to mind. My very first Stat exam is coming up this Saturday and I’m so nervous I can puke just thinking about it. It’s not so much the Statistics subject itself. It’s just that it’s the first, you know. Other firsts in my life where I remember holding down vomit:

10. First day of school. Everytime.
9. First Holy Communion.
8. First Confession. Will the priest damn me to hell?
7. First solo song number. On stage, in front of entire school campus. In a competition.
6. First ball game. Played shortstop. Almost vomited on my sneakers.
5. First driving lesson. My fingers went numb.
4. First quiz bee competition. Went regional. Don’t know how I survived that.
3. First Impromptu Speaking Contest. Entire school district. Won 2nd place, but what the heck.
2. First day at work. Horrible. Didn’t sleep the night before.
1. First international flight. Alone. LAX sure is big. I was afraid I’ll land in Mexico instead or something. Seriously, I was very aware of where my life jacket was that first time.
